An arteriogram or angiogram is an x-ray examination of the arteries. This examination allows an optimal analysis of all the arteries of the whole body. This examination technique accurately shows the diameter of the interior of the vessels and especially the presence of any narrowing or rupture of the artery. These strictures are usually due to the presence of atherosclerotic plaques. The organ or organs that depend on the diseased artery are affected by the lack of oxygen supply from the blood.
